Baking Tools and Supplies

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Baking is a fun and delicious hobby and skill that can turn into a lucrative business. Many bakers turn their passion for baking into a money making business. Waking up every day and doing what you love to do is the best job in the world and bakers enjoy this job. Learning how to bake is easy and all you need are the proper baking tools and some know how. Many books are available on baking and many sites on the World Wide Web have step by step guides to baking.

Baking tools and supplies are needed for baking. Aside from having an oven you will need other materials in order to start baking. Measuring cups and spoons are needed to get exact measurements of ingredients needed. An electric mixer will make putting all the ingredients together and mixing them an easier task. If no electric mixer in available you can use spatulas, wooden spoons and mixing bowls to mix the ingredients together. Baking pans and baking trays are where you will put the batter before placing in the over. Rolling pins are needed to flatten the dough and take bubbles away.

There are other baking tools available for specific types of baked good. When baking cookies, you will need cookie sheets and wax paper to place the cookie batter on before putting in the oven. Wax paper is needed so that the cookies won't stick to the pan. If you wish to make cookies in different shapes, you'll need different cookie cutters. There are so many different cookie cutter shapes available from hearts to stars to Christmas trees for the holiday season and pumpkins for Halloween. You can also choose to retain the normal round shape of cookies if you want.
When making bread you will be using different baking tools too. Bread loaf treys of different sizes are needed depending on the bread you are making. You will also need a bread bin to let the bread cool down and to keep away from pets and pests.

For baking cakes, you will need cake pans of different shapes and sizes. You can also look for different cake stencils in order to decorate the cakes you just baked. If you want to add icing to your cakes then you'll need rubber spatulas to spread the icing and you'll need pastry bags to make decorative icing designs.

There are many other baking tools available in the market. You just have to choose what you want to bake and how you want it to taste and look like.

How To Make The Best Meatloaf Dinner

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

I have been making this meatloaf dinner for my family for more then thirty years they seem to always want more. Every time I make a meatloaf dinner the family all gathers for dinner to eat and talk about every thing from sports to world events. I hope people will enjoy this dinner with their family. I enjoy cooking for people I just do not get the chance to cook that much for any one right now. I hope this meal will bring your families back time after time like my family has.

First you need about three pounds of ground beef to make a good size meat loaf. This will feed about five to six people for dinner. Put the ground beef in a glass bowl so it can be mixed up. First take to grade a large eggs break them and mix up with the ground beef thoroughly. Then shake in about a third of a can or jar of seasoned bread crumbs this will give the meat loaf more flavor. Take one medium can of stewed tomatoes mix then up with all other ingredients. make sure the the tomatoes are mixed completely up in the meat loaf not on top.

Preheat the oven to three hundred twenty five degrees put the meat loaf in a glass baking pan let the meatloaf cook for about one hour and twenty five minutes. Make sure while the meat loaf is cooking to drain all grease from the baking pan every fifteen minutes to keep the flavor in the meat loaf. Cook the meatloaf until light brown on top.

I usually make mashed potatoes from fresh peeled potatoes to go with the meatloaf. Make a fresh salad with lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers then just add a dressing to the salad and dinner is all set and ready to serve. Cut the meat loaf in thin slices and serve with mash potatoes and salad.

If you want add a heated dinner roll to the dinner I hope people enjoy this family meal and spend many hours talking together . Please Enjoy this dinner as a family as I do with my family.

The Best Ways to Prepare Wild Game For Dinner

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

While hunting is itself a popular sport enjoyed by hunters all over the world, the premise upon which most hunting is based is a need for food and sustenance. For that reason many avid hunters will agree with the idea that the experience of the hunt is not complete until the game that is killed has been cooked into a delicious meal and shared with others. But cooking wild game such as boar, deer, alligator, rabbit, or any of the other various kinds of hunted animals is not such a common practice in today's modern culinary world. To learn how to properly prepare wild game and to do so safely while also ensuring that the outcome is a tasty success is an art and craft all to itself. Learn a little bit about cooking game and soon it becomes not only easier but much more satisfying and rewarding - both for the hunter and for the cook. Sometimes the hunter and the cook are the same person, and if you are a sportsman who likes to hunt then you should by all means consider learning to cook so that when you return to camp or home with game you can put on your chef's hat and cook what you killed.

As with any kind of cooking, it is always best to follow a recipe. There are many excellent books available that specialize in the cooking of wild game, and the best cookbook authors will also include sections in conventional recipe books that address the nuances and special techniques for cooking hunted game. For example, in the classic American cookbook "Joy of Cooking" you will find many pages devoted to helping explain all about the cleaning, butchering, preparing, and cooking of game. Look in the best cookbooks - those that have encyclopedic entries about the culinary arts - and you will likely discover recipes for deer meat or venison, rabbit, and various game birds like pheasant, quail, turkey, and duck. If the books are older and were written back when hunting for daily food was more common - or if they are special cookbooks designed for hunters - you will find much more exotic types of recipes. You are likely to find out how to cook squirrel, raccoon, beaver tail, wild boar, elk, gator, rattlesnake, and a host of other animals.

Most recipes call for grilling, baking, or roasting. Slowly smoking game meat adds a delightfully earthy and juicy flavor that enhances the taste of wild game. Grilling over an open flame - or over a campfire - is one of the most enjoyable game cooking methods, and it is also possible to make a meat loaf, burger, or other dish - just as you might with a fine cut of prime steak. You can also create dried jerky from venison and other meats, and many hunters dry their own jerky and then pack it along for snacks while on their hunting expeditions.

The best recipe really depends upon the particular type of game you like to hunt and your own personal preferences for what kinds of dishes and foods you enjoy the most. Do some research and shop for cookbooks that are written especially for game hunters. Then experiment with a few ways to cook the game you hunt until you have your own repertoire of personal favorite recipes.

Albie Berk enjoys hunting and sharing what he has learned and any successful tips he can with others. He enjoys South Carolina hunting and usually stays at Carolina Buck and Boar

Liederkranz Cheese and Shrimp Make a Sandwich

Monday, August 8, 2011

Centuries before Lonton food restrictions were drawn up, bread and cheese headed the food thrift list. These classic affinities still take top honors as the most nourishing and economical of foods and although they won their first fame as necessities of life, they now hold a high place in the epicure's food register, too. With such famous dessert cheese delicacies as Camembert Brie Swiss and Liederkranz cheese, all available with Made-in-America labels, the housewife can turn her family into cheese eaters without straining her budget.

The absence of Roquefort is now filled successfully by domestic blue cheese. Blue cheese is included in the cocktail cheese spreads. And did you know that the relish cocktail cheese spread you've been using for canapes and sandwiches gives equally delectable flavor to broiled fish when spread on just before the last five minutes of cooking?

High in protein, cheese is valued as a meat substitute, lending flavor as well as nourishment to many cooked dishes. Always cook cheese at moderate temperatures as high heat will cause the fats to decompose. To be easily digested, cooked cheese should be well done.

How to make a basic meatloaf from nothing

Sunday, August 7, 2011

If meatloaf is in your comfort food class then most likely you grew up with it. Comfort foods are like that. They bring back the memories of childhood and the great smells and tastes from Mom's kitchen. In all probability my mother's meatloaf recipe, that is comforting to me, is not the same as your Mom's. That's what's so great about meatloaf. There's not a definitive recipe. It's a blank canvas. One of the most versatile meat entrees there is. It's essentially more of a food class than it is a food item. In a similar manner that soup is a food class. Meatloaf Basics Great meatloaf must be juicy but never greasy. Although there's not a definitive recipe there are some basics to every meatloaf recipe. Naturally it starts with meat. Most recipes call for ground beef but it doesn't need to be all ground meat. You can use a mix of meats including veal, lamb, pork or sausages. The meat is a basic but still versatile. In addition to the meat you may almost always have some kind of binder like eggs and a starch such as bread or cracker crumbs. Some recipes also include veg. The crumbs help to bind with the eggs and also serve as an extender for the meat. Vegetables are also an extender and will help to keep the meatloaf moist. Just pulse them in the Kenwood. You can also buy flavored breadcrumbs. Vegetable variations make meatloaf even more versatile. I know a woman that cleans her chiller of leftovers every week with meatloaf. A favourite is bacon strips. Tomato products are also popular . My Mom used catsup. Seasoning is a matter of taste. Use whatever you want. Beyond that permit your taste buds be your guide. Wish to have a Mexican meatloaf recipe? Try chili powder and cumin. Use ground tortilla chips as the starch and a taco sauce topper. How about Italian? Then it's oregano and basil. Do you see what I mean? Naturally you should still prepare the one that is comforting to you. But you can travel the world from your kitchen with meatloaf and all its fluctuations. Meatloaf actually is a flexible comfort food.
Turkey is a most versatile product. It is more flavorsome and meatier than chicken and with extra protein. Like all poultry though there are serious health risks if it isn't cooked correctly. The sole thing you have got to be careful of when cooking any kind of poultry is to make certain it is seasoned well because I have found all various forms of birds tend to need additional seasoning vs meats like pork and lamb. It encompasses the rule of seasoning, that every bite of a meatloaf should be full of flavor. Mix well and add to a loaf pan. Some spread ketchup ( three / 4 cup ), mustard or catsup atop the meatloaf. I do not.. If you do not have a loaf pan you can spread the meatloaf on a baking sheet to about the size of a thick burger. I would cover and cook at 325 for 50-65 mins till internally it is 160F, checking it every twenty minutes to make sure it isn't burning. Tip : Meatloaf is just glorified meatballs so you can use this mixture to make turkey meatballs or maybe turkey burgers.

As as  The actual Recipes For Meatloaf vary widely because of its long history, but the hearty home-cooked taste and ease of preparation is something that always stays the same. Ground meat, as the name ‘meatloaf’ suggests, is the main ingredient. Although most are made using ground beef, Recipes For Meatloaf sometimes call for pork or a combination of ground beef and lamb.

There are as many variations on meatloaf recipes as there are cooks who make it. A mixture of the meat and various other ingredients is traditionally pressed into a loaf pan or flat baking pan and baked to a browned perfection. American meatloaf is usually topped with ketchup when served, but recipe variations that throw in Italian spices are often topped up with tomato sauce instead.

Recipes For Meatloaf might suggest any number of ingredients as a binder for the ground meat. Consider the traditional breadcrumbs and eggs (softer breadcrumbs for meatloaf that is moister), or perhaps small pieces of bread soaked in a flavoring liquid such as red wine or milk. Other options could be finely ground oatmeal, almonds or wheat germ. One can also decrease the calories in their meatloaf by using grated carrots or potatoes in place of a portion of the meat.

Once the  in Recipes For Meatloaf with a more international leaning will recommend ingredients as varied as olives, corn, bell pepper, or mushrooms.

In terms of the spices to use, one will find so many alternatives recommended by the different Recipes For Meatloaf that his or her biggest challenge will be choosing which one they’d like to try first! From Italian to Cajun, from German to Mexican, it is clear that meatloaf has over the years been assimilated into the culinary choices of almost every cuisine.

Once one has chosen the perfect meatloaf recipe, it’s time to decide how their perfect meatloaf will be prepared. The traditional loaf pan is always an option, but so are muffin tins or mini-loaf pans if one is looking to make single-serving portions. Some lower calorie meatloaf recipes suggest piercing holes into the bottom of an inexpensive loaf pan and baking loaf with the pan on another tray to catch the drippings so that it no longer remains in the meatloaf; and for very quick meatloaf, one can even use their microwave to prepare the dinner.

For years, meatloaf has held its own on the dining tables of families all over America. The Recipes For Meatloaf have evolved over time integrating different cultural and personal preferences. However, the important elements have remained the same- a simple, balanced meal that’s easy on the wallet and good on the taste buds.
