Antioxidant in Detox Foods Is Not a Synonym for Bland

In the same way a detox fast need not punish you, a steady diet of detox foods need not torture your taste buds nor leave you fantasizing about Godiva chocolates drizzled over a mountain of eclairs. In fact, in the post-modern world of healthy detox and proper nutrition, your diet may take a turn for the more delicious as you focus on foods that both cleanse and nourish. Eating all-natural foods from lower down the food chain need not drag you down the taste scale. You cannot seriously object to spending a lot of quality time with blueberries and strawberries, can you? You do not really harbor some serious metaphysical objection to carrots, do you? And, all things considered, do you really forfeit all that much if you divorce beef and pork? When people on detox diets, claim they are "eating well," the word "well" simultaneously can mean healthy and tantalizing.

Meat Loaf

Lots of great flavors hide inside the nutritional vocabulary. As you choose foods that help preserve the benefits of your protracted cleansing, you will learn, for example, to look for "anthocyanins." Translation: "Go for the grapes." The big word is simply science talk for "purple," and it guides you not only to grapes, but also to blueberries and raspberries, pomegranates and acai berries. And, just because they do not quite meet the standard for "purple," do not overlook cranberries, too. Keep in mind, as you fill your cart with anthocyanins, fresh beats frozen like a royal flush beats a pair of deuces. Even "flash freezing" drains some nutrients and antioxidants from all your favorite purple delicacies.

Detox diet plans generally advise you to eat lots of whole grains. When whole grains meet anthocyanins, magic happens on your plate and in your body. Perhaps not as decadent as your fantasy éclair, a whole grain waffle smothered in blueberries and strawberries must make your mouth water at least a little bit.

Of course, detox dieting involves more than satisfying your sweet tooth. Eventually, you will face the challenge of asking and answering, "What will I do for protein?" One word will jump-start your search for healthy sources of proteins: Vegetables. Long the complement of your mother's meat loaf, peas and carrots are your friends, and the entire herb garden will team with your old favorites to make fifty-seven varieties of delicious. Again combining your whole grains with healthy vegetables, imagine how you can prepare a palette-pleasing red or green stuffed pepper: bring on your trustworthy cayenne for extra flavor and health. But, please, do not neglect all the squashes; and, when your meat craving threatens to overwhelm you, think of the miracles you can work with an eggplant and a tomato-rich marinara sauce-all that flavor jam-packed with so much great healthy stuff!

And behold the ostensibly humble family of red beans. Bienvenido a la tierra de frijoles rojos. For centuries, red beans, pinto beans, and black beans have remained staples in Latin American diets, because they cost practically nothing, they pack-in an unrivalled nutritional wallop, and they lend themselves to at least a million different combinations and recombinations. Simmered all day with cayenne and other herbs, laced lightly with lime and jalapenos, wrapped in a toasty-warm whole grain tortilla, the humble red bean becomes a magnificent burrito. Paired with diced eggplant cooked in taco seasonings, red beans add flavor and nutrition to your burrito supreme.

With just a little imagination, a lot of cayenne and flavorful herbs, you easily can transform your ordinary kitchen into an amazingly healthy and absolutely delicious cosmopolitan cuisine. The type of dieting above is often very easy to follow after something like a Master Cleanse as the body has just been purified and it will naturally want to stay healthy and will help direct you toward healthy choices.
